It is easy to believe that infertility treatment is strictly a modern day science made possible through the application of state of the art reproductive techniques. However nowadays many couples are now turning to acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine for help. Many high tech reproductive specialists are looking to the world of Chinese medicine to help patients especially when western techniques cannot get results.
The benefits of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of infertile couples can be found in early Chinese medical literature dating back to around the 11th century A.D. The study consisted of giving acupuncture shortly before and after embryo transfer.
