My name is Courtney.
I am 22 and live in the most boring part of England... I am hoping to become emotionally and physically stronger through the arts of yoga & meditation. Recently I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis which is a long-term condition but the pain can be minimised with regular yoga practice and physiotherapy. I am putting my health first as a main priority.
Working towards making my body and mind stronger.
More About Me
My Occupation is
I recently became unemployed and looking for a new job :( But just enrolled in the Open University to take a Health and Social Care Honours Degree and volunteering with Samaritans Advice as a listener.
My hobbies/interests are
I love music, writing (although I don't do it half as much as I should), reading, being that friend that we all need to cheer us up! Hopefully yoga soon! I love my friends and family to the moon and back and would go out of my way for any of them.
One secret that helps me to stay healthy is
Mental Health is just as important as physical health, so my secret would probably be two words that most of us really need to focus on accomplishing more often... positive thoughts! (That and a good ol' bubble bath!)
My wellness goals are
To better myself as a person inside and out. We all suffer from depression at some point in our lives and my goal is to prevent that. By doing so I want to approach it in a calm manner and to finally be the person I know I can be.
I see myself achieving my wellness goals by
Regular yoga practice, meditation, acceptance and ambition.
My inspirations are
I am inspired by my 6 year old cousin, Thomas. He has Downs Syndrome and Autism but I have the most remarkable bond with him and he has taught me over the years to be patient, proud and praise myself how I would expect to be praised by others for all of my accomplishments.
My Auntie Dawn, who moved to America to be her own person and has achieved so much. She fights to carry on no matter what life brings. She has followed her dreams despite other people trying to get in the way and to be honest, she is exactly who I want to be... just an amazing, independent and strong young woman!
My boyfriend for allowing myself to be vulnerable more than enough and loving me. He gives me courage.
A little more about me
Peace, security, stability, trust, honesty and a good sense of humour are the most important aspects of my life and I need to improve on every one of them so I can live in perfect harmony. (Apart from sense of humour because I tell some cracking jokes...)
