Pilates Mat is a series of floor exercises
designed by Joseph Pilates. In this class you
will learn the foundations of Pilates; breath,
concentration, control, centering and
precision. These exercises are designed to
uniformly strengthen the body as a whole
creating a balance of strength and flexibility.
This class is for those that have experience with Classical Pilates Mat work and are ready for a challenge. More complex and difficult exercises are introduced to challenge your breath capacity, core strength and stamina, as well as flexibility.
A modified Pilates practice for pregnant women. Build body and breath awareness, keep your core strong, work towards better alignment and posture; all important factors to stay fit and healthy for an optimal pregnancy.
Wendy talks about what Pilates is, how it works, and demonstrates 6 basic Pilates principles: Breath, Concentration, Centering, Control, Precision, and Flowing Movement.
With focus on how the limbs and endpoints are
supported from center, core and distal initiation will be explored with cuing to encourage awareness of the options available to us in our movement.
This Pilates "quickie" is a fast pace, rhythmic
sequence of movements that will strengthen your body
from the inside out. This is recommended for
practitioners with some Pilates experience. Use it as
a warm up for a Yoga practice, a challenging day, or
as an end of a long day-last minute core experience.
Moving through the classical Pilates mat repertoire with
awareness of spinal alignment, support and flow. Supporting the spine's natural curves with "long & strong" activation techniques to develop the deep postural musculature.
Nico addresses specific alignment technique for attaining correct pelvic placement in Pilates matwork exercises, the foundation necessary to perform these exercises correctly with maximum safety and benefits.
