Yoga and Pilates Fusion with Anita Seiz. Combining the best of both practices! This practice is great cross training for those who want to integrate a focus on core strengthening into their Yoga practice. The focus of this practice is on opening the hips and lower back in order to have better access to the deep core muscles. Avoid this practice if you have neck and shoulder injuries, low back injuries, and osteoporosis.

Really challenging in areas and i look forward to mastering the moves. Core work was fun in that i have never seen those moves before but it was challenging so i knew i was working something.

I enjoyed the juicy stretches in this video- really nice! If I could add anything to it I would only suggest more guidance on breathing- when to inhale and exhale in each different movement. I feel I could get more from each stretch if I were aware of how to breathe in time with it. I imagine if I do this video more I will get better in touch with that as well. Thank you!

Exactly what I was looking for. Been doing Pilates for years but am happy to see that its virtues are not corrupted here by fitness-freak style exercises. Pilates adds a mindful fitness component to yoga. North Americans demand this kind of results-oriented exercise, but Ms. Seiz's style strikes an amazing balance by not giving into the more extremist takes on it. Fusing the two disciplines makes for an optimal workout. Thanks very much for this and your other videos!!

@chmariediz212, I saw a Level 3 yoga pilates fusion on a free site, it had yoga poses including side plank, wild thing, Marichi's posture and all that Stott style breathing ... it IS possible ... both propless and equipmentless, for an advanced yogi to do a fusion. Not speaking personally, of course--this same teacher's Level 2 had overchallenged me ... may revisit that some time soon since I've had several live pilates mat classes ...

Either you do yoga or Pilates ... Advanced in yoga it looks like nothing but slow stretching...
