In this live class filmed at Semperviva Yoga in Vancouver, Bernie Clark works the upper body in a Yin Yoga style. We will target the deeper connective tissues of the hands, arms, neck and shoulders especially the fascial bags that can cause our muscles to be so tight. We will also allow the lower body to marinate a bit in some lovely yin sauce. This class may be great for people who suffer from tightness in the shoulder and neck area, or for those who carry a lot of stress there. Note - Anyone with neck issues or who have suffered whiplash should be very careful with the neck movements, perhaps even skipping those parts of this practice. For people with significant shoulder or wrist problems, this practice may be helpful but please check with your health care provider first and go slowly.

The Semperviva Yoga College was founded to make the deeper study of yoga accessible to people of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels. We look for individuals passionate about the practice, eager to study for their own personal development and those eager to spread their love of yoga to others. A flexible body free of injuries is NOT a requirement for this training. We welcome you as you are to share in the joy of yoga.

There are already two shorter Yin Yoga classes offered here on MyYogaOnline. You find them them if you search for Yin Yoga classes by Bernie: one is about 21 minutes and the other about 20 minutes. They target the hips and the spine. If you want a slightly longer practice, you may want to search for the Yin Yoga Channel I created on YouTube, but be warned, it is not nearly as nice as the productions you'll find here on MYO. You will find there a few 30 minute practices. (You can also get to the Yin Yoga Channel via my website, which is www.YinYoga.com.) Cheers!

This is truly a wonderful class! Thank you so much! I think I just found the right teacher for my husband as well!
I do have a request. Can you design a 30-minute class for us overly taxed parents who also spent too much time working in front of a computer? I look forward to joining this class again, but there are days I can only fit in a half an hour, which is better than nothing! Thank you again.

Thanks a lot for a great class. I love the gentle teaching, the stories and little anecdotes tying it all up. And a great Savasana. Thank you so much! Namaste.

Thank you so much for this - I have recently started using several of your yin videos...and am happy to have this one which focuses on the neck and shoulders - my overtaxed areas, as a writer!

Wonderful to see another yin yoga video with Bernie! This makes a nice yin trio of Bernie's videos: "yin-yang fusion for the whole body", "rest and digest practice", and this one. Now that Winter is settling in, a yin trio might just be the ticket.
I also recommend Bernie's own site wherein he has posted a large number of yin yoga videos.
Thanks for all you share, Bernie!
