star fire: you need basic meditation and learn to put the breath between injured areas. The breath makes all the difference in the world- if you can't get the breath down- then when doing harder poses your body will be off balance and you won't get the move.

I can't touch my toes. My leg muscles are as stiff and rigid as boards. I can't do a lot of the poses on this video, and I for sure can't go as fast as they do.. But I do what I can do, and I think if I keep practicing I will get better. I won't ever be some bendy pretzel person, but I will be stronger and healthier anyway!

I aggree what all of you say about Nicki as a teacher and instructor. But even though I know this is an introduction to Maya Yoga, I did¨t feel that I got enough of a flowing movement to really get warm. So that when I got into the deeper hip streches I felt too cold in the muscles. That is the only complaint I have. I really enjoyed Nickis comments and light playful attitude towards this deep and somewhat serious philosophy. Wish I could visit her studio in Maui :)

Nicki's positive mindfulness, her deep knowledge of the body, her attention to the details of the individual asanas and her centered focus upon the ultmate spiritual purpose of yoga are inspiring and are invigorating to the practice. This video is a gift, of spirit and of its expression in the practice, to the My Yoga Online community. Thank you...namaste......

I didn't have time to do this class but listened while i was working-I do that often enough so I can get a better glimpse of the class and teacher before I get 'all into it'.
Nicki is my kind of teacher because she TEACHES as well as instructs a classroom full of yogis.
Thanks Nicki-hope you post other videos to MYO.
