This is a deeply nourishing and relaxing practice with Dina Amsterdam that is ideal when you feel depleted after a stressful day of work or during a difficult time of anxiety and/ or exhaustion. The sequence, a combination of mindfulness, breathing, Yin yoga, and restorative yoga will invite you to gently yet profoundly open, unwind and soothe your body and mind. The poses will stimulate energy meridians that, according to Chinese Medicine, support the release of stress and anxiety and promote ease and greater well-being. The practice will reduce sympathetic nervous system activity (fight or flight) and support you in getting a good night's sleep. When practiced regularly you may find you have a greater capacity to soak in and savor the nourishment that is always present within and around each of us.

I really enjoyed this practice! I was wondering if there were ways to modify the first pose (bending one knee to the butt while the other is bent pointing up)? I wasn't sure if it was more important the knee be fully bent or touching the floor, or if laying back as far as possible was the priority. I'm still not quite flexible enough yet to do all 3!

You can definitely do this first thing in the morning. It will invite ou to be deeply present for your day and leave you feeling quite supple. There is a video coming soon specifically designed to reduce stress and anxiety in the AM. It includes some active practice as well to get the blood flowing through the musculature. Enjoy ;))))!

Thank you Dina for this nourishing practice. I have suffered with anxiety my entire adult life, and nothing has helped me regain my calm and center like your teaching. This particular practice is perfect at the end of a busy day, and I have also used it to begin my day with a sense of ease. Your teachings continue to inspire me....thank you again & again...

Thank you all for the wonderful feedback. I am so thrilled that you all are enjoying the soothing effects of this InnerYoga PM practice! If you have any questions please feel free to ask here. There are more videos coming... some have more of a Kripalu flavor as some of you have requested. I've been studying yoga for over 20 years and Kripalu is one of the very meaningful flavors of practice that has been integrated into my InnerYoga approach. If you have requests for further videos please be as specific as possible and I (and MyYogaOnline) will do our best to meet your needs :)))!! May we be led by the highest in us. And may the highest in us love, comfort, and uplift the lowest in us and those around us. Dina

Lovely, Thank you. When I looked at the length I wasn't sure, But actually time got lost and it certainly took me that long to wind down and be mindful! I'll definately be doing this again when stressed :-)

WONDERFUL!!! MOST WOMEN NOWADAYS NEED THIS, ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT LIVE IN BIG CITIES AND HAVE STRESSFUL JOBS & LIVES AND TOO MUCH ACTIVITY. I ALWAYS SAY, IF YOU LIVE IN A BIG CITY DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THE POWER YOGAS. AS WOMEN WE NEED TO NURTURE OURSELVES AND BE COMPASSIONATE WITH OURSELVES. AND LIKE BPINTO ASKED YOU, PLS POST A KRIPALU YOGA CLASS.
