Flow through a dynamic new yoga series with acclaimed instructor Nicki Doane's 45 minute Back Bending practice. What makes Maya Yoga’s series different from other Asana sequences is the balanced approach to back bending strength, the attention to detail and alignment, and the broader focus on finding a deep inner strength that supports everything we do. This Back Bending practice balances traditional fitness notions of back strength with awareness of developing a strong, steady breath and a quiet mind.

The practice feels like it should be really great with a little more time in each posture and less repetition. Instead of doing 8 1 breath postures maybe 5 2 breath postures, enough time to really feel comfortable in each one and do a correction if you need it!

Hey there yogis...if you want a longer Savasana, STAY in savasana...it's your practice. No need to get up when the video is over. Nicki is the bomb.

Nicki's non-stop talking ruins the video for me. It's unfortunate because I really like the flow. With 75% less commentary, this would be one of my favorites.

This class moves fast! It is a serious workout! Savasana is less than one minute.

Nicki is clearly a very strong and flexible practitioner, her body is lithe and lovely and she moves through the practice with grace. The instruction in this video seems directed at people new to the practice of yoga - the very careful pronunciation of the sanskrit, dutiful reminders to check placement of hands and feet in every downward dog and explanation of what some of the sanskrit means. Savasana was explained to be corpse pose, but the time in the pose was less than two breaths, with no recommendation to stay in the pose long enough to need the blanket she suggests you may want.
I would imagine the video to be incredibly physically challenging to someone who needs the level of instruction she provides, while it is differently challenging to someone who is practicing at this level. 3 back bends and the preparation of camel and upward bow do not make this a back bending practice, but more a practice that concludes with back bends.

Very good. Broke a major sweat. Very structured/Ashtanga-based. Loved the intense warmup. That's what I need before I do any backbending! Thanks Nicki

I enjoyed this flow. I am a personal trainer and it was still challenging while helping to open up. Looking forward to doing this video with a partner in the comfort of my home gym! :) Thank you.

Excellent, Ashtanga inspired class with ten sun salutations.
Looking forward to doing it again.
One suggestion, allow an extra five minutes for a longer savasana.
