Another great video. I find I want to round my back at the end of my forward bends (say, after I've warmed up by doing several with a straight back). I do it to get the stretch in the back of my hamstrings. Could you recommend a pose to get that hamstring stretch that doesn't require the rounding in the back?

As a physiotherapist who teaches her patients how to do yoga, this is a great resource. Thank you.

Can't believe how much I've learned about avoiding lower back issues in just three of Jesse's tips. Yay!

Great information, especially in light that I have lower back pain and despite practicing yoga for almost a year, my lower back pain has not improved much. I've attended classes locally and seen videos where the instruction is to keep your legs straight while doing a forward bend. I appreciate the anatomical insight Jesse offers and look forward to more of his videos

were i to watch this video five years ago, i might not have needed disc surgery. there are many yoga postures that help with lumbar problems, and most of them involve a concave rather than a convex back. all therapists and doctors though taught me to round my back, bring knees into the chest, etc, which only pushed the discs more into the spine. this is a great little video.
