This level one Pilates matwork video looks at breaking down fundamental Pilates principals. In this Pilates class we begin by exploring the the Pilates breath and the three steps of movement in relation to breathing. We then move though a sequence of Pilates exercises taking a close look at common corections in alignment and step by step adjustments to achieve optimal form. I find that I tend to use my hip flexors too much in many of the ab work poses. Does anyone have any suggestions/feedback on how I can practice strengthening my core with exercises that will allow me to focus on my core and not use my hip flexors so much? (If that makes any sense?!) Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This class is VERY beginner. Wendy does a great job at explaining exactly what you should and should not be feeling. This class requires a yoga block. The one thing I noticed is that when rotating the hip on the left side, she doesn't switch directions like she did on the right side.

Perfect! Great tips on alignment and stability. Her instruction is slow enough to understand and follow, but no so much so that I got lost. Plus I feel like I got a gentle yet effective pilates workout. Thank you Wendy!

Wow! This is the best teacher I have encountered so far on this site! This was the first time I felt as if I was in a class with a teacher, rather than watching a video! Also, even though this is a level 1, and she explained and advised very thoroughly, it was still a good pilates work-out! PLEASE more classes by Wendy!!
