I recommend the lactobacilli based fermented foods: Sauerkraut, kimchi, miso, and yogurts made from goat or sheep milk. (Remember that cows milk supports dampness and a yeast imbalance)
The ferments that use yeast I do not recommend. That would be Kombucha, Kefir, Breads, Beer, and Wine.
Even though some people will say that it is only the "good" yeast in those ferments, it still is a product that supports to growth of yeast. For most bodies in North America our diet supports the growth of a lot of yeast; mostly the bad kind.
Hope that helps!

Kate, thank you for this information! While I am not a vegetarian, I try to eat a plant based diet. These are great tips for days when meat is not on the menu for me. I would love to hear you talk about if it's ok to eat fermented foods if one has a yeast overgrowth.

Really appreciated these tips, thanks for the information! I've been moving away from soy-based veggie products and opting for more plant-based but don't find it feasible/realistic for me to go vegan now.
