I was first introduced to yoga by my neurologist back in 2001 because of a back injury. My doctor felt that as an active person who sustain back issue after a car accident, this would enhance my recovery. Since moving to Pennsylvania I increased my practice of yoga and through a personal review I decided to study to become a Yin Yoga teacher.
My Occupation is
Certified Athletic Trainer and Yoga Instructor
My hobbies/interests are
Cooking, skiing, biking, quilting and taking long walks with my dog.
One secret that helps me to stay healthy is
Balanced diet, lots of water
My wellness goals are
Creating more of a balance in my life.

Attempting this challenge, I think this can add to my well being.
My inspirations are
The first two people I met that teach yoga anatomyare Pauland Suzze Grilley. Their teaching helped me step back and take a look at the people I teach and realize that there is no perfect pose. We are all different but we need to embrace our differences and accept. As weird as it sounds nature inspires me, when the weather is nice I love to practice yoga outside. When I finish my practice I feel energized to start my day.

I found wanting to start my day with meditation, it's not even my cup of coffee. I get up and follow my usual routine. Feed the animal and walk the dog. When I get back into the house I find that starting off with 15 - 30 minutes it is a great start to my day. I am finding myself less stressed. I think I am going to end my day with a short meditation.

I have found the De-stress express to be so helpful. Thank you, the addition of meditation to my practice has really helped decrease my stress. I have created my meditation space and find myself drawn to meditate every morning.

De-stress i wish I could say so, today not so much, it is hard when you are trying to practice and you get bothered by your mother. My mom lives with me and my husband. She doesn't get the whole yoga thing as she puts it but she has gotten better. Just today she shot the meditation round in the foot so to speak. I guess I will try again later.

may be the De-stress express was a good choice for me I actually decided that yesterday my body was telling me that i needed a day to meditate and not to do an asana practice. The stressed out me would have pushed through an asana practice and would have done it half hearted and really have not gotten a lot out of it. Meditation, helped calm me and give me more focus on what needed to get done.

Yin yoga for the upper body is great. I loved it, I can't believe it was more than an hour it went by so fast. I recommend this to everyone.

De-stress, I doing this because of chaos that is going on in my daily life at this moment. I practice yoga daily, I am trying to establish a daily practice of meditation. I want to improve my diet.
I did the yin yoga yesterday in the beginner challenge and it was the first time I heard of or experienced it. I am more the flow - vinyasa type, but really enjoyed the yin yoga video and plan to do more.

De-stress Express, why? Stress has been high lately in my life. I have been trying to add more meditation in my life. By doing this challenge I really think I will add meditation to my daily practice
