One secret that I have discovered is the absolute wonderment that pets have. We have two young puppies that are a handful, but the amount of depth and joy they add to our lives is beyond compare. There love is unconditional, pure, and without complications. That may make me sound like a weenie, but I love my puppies and they have been a great stress reliever from other parts of my life.

    • So disappointing

Two days after I declare myself a new yoga practice-r, I was hit by a car while running my puppy. Not seriously hurt, but my entire shoulder and both knees are extremely scrapped up. I can barely lift my arm and have a hard time kneeling currently. I am so frustrated. Even after only two days of doing yoga, I found myself a little less stress; much more able to cope with work place stress. Now all I can do is sit around and veg watching tv, blogging online, or reading.

      So. Frustrated.

hi stephanie, hopefully with this unfortunate circumstance, you can find inspiration in other forms of practice like yoga nidra, pranayama, and meditation ... as your discomfort subsides, you may find yin and restorative flows an ideal way to nurture your recovery ... all the best, kreg MYO

      • Hey there, hang in there! I've just hit a block myself with a nasty infection under my toes (nearly staff infection) and have been out a couple of days after 3 months of very steady and blissful practice. I recommend trying Yoga Nidra (very different/ interesting but might feel strange at first). Instead of watching TV it's more inspiring (even if a bit frustrating) to stream and browse MYO video, which ends up becoming super helpful to see in advance what you will eventually get back to (and to pick out your fave teachers and videos so you can bookmark them in a sense). The breathing (pranayama) techniques can also totally help you reduce stress, otherwise you might find at least some positions you can do gently/ mindfully. Happy healing, I feel for ya! But also reading an article by Kino MacGregor made me realize this "blockage" is just another (mental) thing to work through... and you will! Best wishes from East Africa :)
