This is the first time I've tried Surya morning...

I've been experiencing pain on my chest because of acid reflux. I took a prescribed medication for two weeks and that helped. I've also been more mindful about what I eat and I've been incorporating more alkaline products in my eating habits. I don't eat vegetables so I've been taking in a lot of fresh fruit juice and fresh fruit to compensate.
In addition to this, I want to know if there are any particular yoga asanas which will help as well?
Many thanks!

Hello,
Thanks for your question.
When we experience acid reflux the issue is not always that we are too acidic overall, but more so to do with not actually having enough acid in the stomach.
In the moment of experiencing heart burn a great remedy is a shot of Aloe Vera Juice.
Long term you will need to look at your diet avoiding anything process, refined sugars, and poor quality fats. Following food combining rules like eating fruit alone and avoiding eating carbohydrates with animal proteins at the same time can take stress off of the stomach. Drink a glass of water with a squeeze of lemon in it before each meal or you can also use a bitters tincture from a health food store. This will help to stimulate the optimal function of the stomach.
I would suggest contacting a Nutritionist or Naturopath to look at your overall constitution to identify what is the best approach to managing your acid reflux.
In health,
Kate
