More About Me

My Occupation is
Education Assistant & Elemental Bodywork Practitioner / Oriental Bodywork Therapist / Reiki Practitioner / Shiatsu Massage Practitioner (Lotus Holistic Health)

My hobbies/interests are
Horse Back Riding, Hiking, Camping, Gardening, Aromatherapy, Celtic studies, Herbology, Holistic treatments, Quilting, Landscaping

One secret that helps me to stay healthy is
Ask yourself, "Does this serve me?" If the answer is "no", then release it & don't let it bother you or bog you down with negative thoughts or actions.

My wellness goals are
To improve my overall health & increase my physical conditioning. I'd like to get to the point where I'm in the best 'shape' (metaphorically speaking) of my life.

I see myself achieving my wellness goals by
Taking more time for myself & dedicating that time to things like yoga, qi gong, meditation, etc. Things that focus on a mind, body, spirit approach.

Just completed the quick Energy Flow yoga video. Love it! What a great way to get a quick energy boost in the morning when I'm pressed for time.

Yesterday was such a beautiful sunny day, that I just couldn't stay at home after work, not even for yoga. I took my horse & spent a glorious 3 hours with him, brushing away the dust & riding the beautiful treed trails that my community has.

This morning I started with the Morning Hatha Flow. What an invigorating routine for such a short period of time. Can't wait to see how I feel this afternoon at work when I usually feel like it's time for a nap.

I've begun keeping track of what I eat. I'm going to make a point of staying away from fast foods. There is an old saying "I am the master of my own destiny". This needs to be my mantra for this process towards health.

                  • hi leah - the whole concept of 'convenience' is a reflection of society - immediate gratification and disinterest in slowing life down, savouring simplicity, and setting priorities ... gardening is such a contrast to that concept - putting in effort, watching the earth slowly providing us with food, becoming aware of the subtle nature of whole foods fresh from your backyard ... enjoy the harvest - take it all in!

                  • Hi Kreg. Thank you for your comment. I've been looking at your videos & really like your style. I believe so much in the mind, body, spirit of life & the energy that I get from you & your video seems to reflect that so well. I look forward to being able to experience more of what you & the other experts have to offer. I'm so glad that I found this website & took the steps to finally incorporate the things that I keep encouraging my own clients to do. Simply put it's time for me to put my money where my mouth is & practice what I preach.

This is the start of new beginnings. Now it's up to me to continue the journey & stop making excuses.
