I'm 21 years old and live in the High Desert of southern California. I was Born and raised here and currently work at the hospital that I was born in as a Lab Technician/Phlebotomist. I am relatively new to yoga. I started practicing it last year and am trying to branch out and explore more. So far I have found yoga to be fascinating and beneficial but I want to explore more and see what else I can learn.

My Occupation is
I am a Phlebotomist at St. Mary's Medical Center

My hobbies/interests are
Video games, Movies, Hiking, Camping, Backpacking, Running, Yoga, Cooking, Sciency things of any flavor but especially biology and medicine.

One secret that helps me to stay healthy is
Well if i tell you then it is hardly a secret is it? Every male in my family has had some form of heart disease. I am still young enough to take preventatve measures and if I ever have trouble getting motivated all I need to think about is the family members we have lost or almost lost because they didn't stay heart healthy.

My wellness goals are
I want to maintain a healthy and balanced level of fitness/wellness. Physically, this means staying strong, flexible, and maintaining my cardiovascular health Mentally this means trying to learn self-control, restraint, focus and balance.

I see myself achieving my wellness goals by
I'm not sure. I stopped smoking and started running and practicing yoga once I recovered from a rather nasty accident in May. Now that my cardiovascular strength is back I have begun lifting weights as well. I am proud of the improvements I've made and just plan to continue moving forward one step at a time.

My inspirations are
I don't really have one unless you count my family members who didn't stay fit.

A little more about me
Yoga has done wonders for my lower back! I'm 6'4" and my job often has me bending over a gurney drawing blood. or even just operating in a hospital that is built for more normal sized people. Back pain has always been a problem but now that I practice yoga regularly I hardly ever have any pain.
