More About Me

My Occupation is
I am a Respiratory Therapist

My hobbies/interests are
Yoga and Music, my work and my kids.

One secret that helps me to stay healthy is
I try to never eat until I am full and I stop eating after about 6 at night...mostly vegitarian, but fish occasionally.
My downfall is a nice red wine.

My wellness goals are
As I get older, I realize that I want to live in a positive way, and start to reduce my negative responce to the negative influences of the world....Oh, I still love a twisted Showtime original series. By negative influences I am talking about the personalities around me, working in hospitals can tend to bring me down at times so I am working on that. To me, my wellness has so much to do with my mindset. Oh and I would like to loose 10lbs.

I see myself achieving my wellness goals by
By once again beginning a real excercise program.
And by getting back to the way I was eating before I blew it at Thanksgiving.

My inspirations are
God, Jesus, Budah, Ghandi, Marianne Williamson, Goldie Hawn, Oprah, Neil Donald Walsh, Dr Oz, Augusten Burroughs, Elizabeth Gilbert...I could go on and on..

A little more about me
I am a women looking for real friends, who are spiritual in an acceptance sort of way, I am ridding myself of petty stuff..trying to remember to love beyond anything else. I love people so much, and I am so grateful to get to work in a field where I can nurture and pray over people. Its such a privilege.

I am on Day 1 of a new routine. Meditation and Yoga before my day begins. I have always said I would start this and get regular and so now I begin. Feels good so far.

Can anybody tell me what might be a good routine for a head cold? I am thinking any would be good, but I am new enough that I dont know if there are targetted poses that might help me with my sinuses?

My life just got harder for a bit...big decisions, some losses. And with that I tend to self destruct a bit. But I have much to care about and keep track of. I need peace in my heart. I can not think of a better place to start then here. The class I just did really centered my feelings today. I am way too hard on myself.

                  • Blessings to you on your journey. I can honestly say that yoga and meditation seem like the best thing we can do for ourselves, in so many ways, as people and as a Species ;). I have kids also, and love the way I relate to them after a practice. It feels as though I am drawn into the same place they are - in the moment.

                    January 18, 2012 at 9:56pm

Trying to find my way back to feeling great, being excited about how great my life is, flexibility, strength, the incredible endorfphin high I used to get.
I am no stranger to yoga but with my current job and kids its hard for me to take the time to get to my Hot Yoga studio. So I have been looking at Videos all day...I did a 12 minute video and a 9 minute video today and I felt better already.
Tomorrow, I will be rising early. My plan is to do a yoga routine for weight loss. I would love to loose 10 lbs. Before when I was doing Hot Yoga with regularity this was really easy to do, I am hoping for good results and will be watching what I eat as well. Please send suggestions on where to start and how to really get this off the ground. My guess is that I just need to be consistent, and make time to take care of me.
                    Wish me luck.
