I'm taking the get energized program for my 28 day challenge. As I watch many peers and family members become less and less active, I realize that that is not what I what for myself. I don't want to miss out on things because I don't have the energy and stamina to do it. I want to increase my engergy so that my body stays ready for the every day and for the new challenges.

O.k. I had to wake up a bit earlier than usual to take time for yoga before work. Well worth it!

I just finished my very first de-stress video. It was difficult to keep my mind in the now and to stop turning towards thoughts that make me feel tense. I need to practice focusing on the breath and the instructors voice so that those quiet moments aren't filled with to do list or old arguments.

                Hi Erin,

Great to see that you able to acknowledge areas in your practice that are offering challenge. Little tip is to not judge the thoughts and even more so, to not associate with them. Think of the brain as just another organ like the heart. It is designed to receive information, process, store and then transmit thoughts and commands. Consider these random, wandering thoughts as merely a conversation that your brain is having with the Self. When we discover how we can disassociate with thoughts, we no longer become bound to them.

So when thoughts flow in, don't judge, don't analyze. Just observe their nature and relevance. Breathe into those thoughts and remember that this is just a conversation. As you breathe out, allow the thoughts to flow away (instead of pushing them away) if they have no relevance to the moment. By having this conversation, we allow questions to surface and truths to unfold. Pushing away thoughts often buries truths.

Explore this conversation, disassociate and allow to be free from attachments to these thoughts. It can become a wonderful journey.

                Namaste,
