Doug began his study of yoga in 1963, when yoga practice in most areas, was considered to be weird and uncool. Doug has studied with many great teachers including; Dr. Ernest Wood, K. Pattabhi Jois, Ramanand Patel, and many othres. Doug’s unique approach to yoga has evolved into a holistic presentation, to include all aspects of a productive life, with enhanced nutrition, and cross training. A master yoga practitioner, philosopher, adventure guide, life coach, writer and dedicated health advocate. Doug has developed his own unique style of “Sadhana Yoga Chi “. He is the author of; "Yoga Helps", "The Diet That Loves You Most", "Power Yoga for Dummies" and "Mastering the Secrets of Yoga Flow". Doug's yoga work is invigorating & inspirational, plus his supportive style of teaching and keen sense of humor send his student’s home with a smile on their face and softness in their heart.

My Occupation is
Yoga teacher, author, health and nutrition advocate, adventure guide, retreat host, lecture presenter, philosopher, fitness and life coach.

My hobbies/interests are
Yoga, surfing, hiking, running, bicycling, paddle boarding, dancing, martial arts and many other active adventures. In addition to writing, photography, vegan chef, listening to a variety of music, meeting new poeple exloring new areas and traveling.

One secret that helps me to stay healthy is
When one human fails we all fail - Your body, mind and spirit are a pricless gift and should be respected as your sacred temple. If you are not healthy - all those around can feel the negative energy when they really need your brilliant guiding light.

My wellness goals are
To live my full potential as a Human, at the same time influencing all other Humans in a positive uplifting manor. Respecting all forms of life on this beautiful planet and teaching truth - reguardless of profit, popularity and status.

I see myself achieving my wellness goals by
By setting a good example - speaking the truth, practicing what I teach... and trying to stay Human. The strongest Human - is the one who can be an individual and a free thinker - free from the chains of group thought - striving to improve in all ways.

My inspirations are
Mother Nature and all my wonderful students in class and out... every day - as we are all students and teachers.
