For the Challenge schedules are pre-set, but any other program(s) you take, you can set the 8 stages come any days/times you want!

Ok so the yoga for beginners program started may 1st, but i thought it would have started with breathing excercies, are we supposed to do each of the videos for the first three days and then wait till may 4th for the stage 2 of the program, thank you!

are there any specific video that actually teach you breathing exercises, when and how to move with the postures, exhaling and inhaling?

            Hi Carolyn,

Thank you very much for your question. Overall, all the videos in the Beginner Yoga category emphasize when and how to breath within poses. For a focussed breathing workshop, we recommend the following:

            Intro to Pranayama
            http://www.myyogaonline.com/videos/beginner-yoga/introduction-to-pranayama

In basic breathing terms, you will find the following breath patterns natural for your your practice:
*INHALE when you enter a back arching movement, rising up or expanding, adding elongation in a pose and preparing for a compressing movement
*EXHALE when you compress the body - all forward bends, going into a twist, bending into a side stretching pose

There are a variety of breathing forms: diaphragm breathing, intercostal/rib breathing, ujjaiya breathing etc ... these are all techniques for you to explore and discover what works best. We have a great selection of articles under our Pranayama section that can help you discover the various techniques (in addition to the videos):
            http://www.myyogaonline.com/about-yoga/pranayama

Let us know if you have any specific questions on breathing or specific postures.

            Namaste,
            Kreg Weiss
