Grand Rapids, US

I'm born-and-raised in Grand Rapids, MI. The youngest child and only girl within my siblings--there's 3 of us. I'm a thinker and an observer. These two things make me very good at reading people and situations, as well as understanding reasoning and reactions. I'm quiet, as in, I keep most thoughts to myself, but I blossom once I feel a friendship sparking. I'm open-minded and always think before I act.

More About Me

My Occupation is
I work at a Credit Union as a Member Service Representative -- which is just a fancy way of saying "Teller". I do not enjoy sitting on my bottom all day long, but I love the easygoing and friendly atmosphere.

My hobbies/interests are
I love reading and writing. I also love traveling and sightseeing, most of which has only been done here in Western Michigan. I go up north to my family's cottage all summer long and we swim, boat, tube, and wake-board.

One secret that helps me to stay healthy is
At this point, this is what I'm searching for!

My wellness goals are
I would like to gain more strength and flexibility, and through the process, hopefully tone up. As far as mental and emotional state, I'd like to find peace and calm, especially behind the wheel of a car. I'd like to be able to control my emotions better and learn how to curb anxiety before it starts.

I see myself achieving my wellness goals by
I see myself achieving my wellness goals by learning self-discipline, and finding motivation to make me get up and do something everyday that's good for my health. One thing I've started doing just for a quick little workout, is making my bed the minute I get out of it in the morning (which is something I never used to do). It makes me feel good that my room looks nice, and it gets me moving in a way I didn't beforehand.

My inspirations are
My biggest inspiration is God. He blessed me with life and my body and I want to respect my body by feeding it healthy nutrients, and working out. Here's to making the best of it!

A little more about me
I do not hate my body coming into this. I really don't. But I know I can do better for myself, so I am going to put forth my best effort for as long as I can.

I sought out this program to help with my anxiety behind the wheel of a car and the stress I accumulate from having to repeatedly ask friends and loved ones for rides to and fro. I try to calm myself down while driving, but I've never really known how to conquer those intense feelings. I am so ready to get whatever I can out of this experience. I want to be able to drive. For my parents, for my boyfriend, and most importantly for myself!

    • I have exactly the same thing with driving! I always feel that I'm too dreamy to drive, which makes me scared when my mind wanders off...Was the program of any help for you? :)

    • More than I thought it would. It's easy to now label my thoughts as "imagining" and "worrying" and trust in myself that my thoughts are just that...THOUGHTS, and not reality. Also, BREATHE. I hadn't noticed how much I was forgetting to breathe while I was worrying behind the wheel. I end up smiling, almost laughing at myself when I realize I'm not breathing properly because once I do, I instantly start to calm myself down. Hope you can find your peace!

Am so happy to be back! While gone I've been committedly walking my dog for at least 15 minutes daily, and doing youtube yoga periodically. I didn't fall too far behind.

I love doing yoga everyday. I look foreward to doing it everyday. It is my time to let go of any bad feelings, bad experiences, stressful situations, and help my body to become more aware of itself through the breathing. My natural demeanor is calm and attentative.

I can already see a difference in my body! I feel great, I'm realxed, I breathe deeper. Those 8 flights of stairs to class don't bother so much anymore! Go yoga!
