So since I've moved to Florida (originally from Pennsylvania, then lived in Ohio for a while) I've developed some difficult anxiety issues and have been losing weight. I'm about 8 or so pounds under my healthy weight. I started on some anxiety medication last month and have been doing yoga every night usually for abut an hour. Both of these things have helped with my anxiety (I'm pretty much back to me!) but I'm finding it really, really difficult to put on any weight.

I try to eat pretty healthy and I want my weight gain to be brought about by keeping that in mind so I was wondering if anyone out there had any tips? I searched around this site (and the internet in general) but with out any real luck. I guess I'm in the minority, most people want to lose weight not gain it.

I have a check up with my doctor later in March and I'm going to talk to her about what I can do but I was curious if anyone else had this issue and had some info for me.

      Much love ~

      • I'm assuming your doctor already ruled out hyperthyroidism?? If you are eating right and still losing weight I would seek a second opinion. . . just saying' : ) Wishing you the best.

      • Oh, no sorry, I should have been more specific. I've actually gained a pound or two since getting my anxiety under control. I've only been on the medication for about a month and a half (though I've been doing yoga for about a year) and in that time I've started to, very slowly, gain the weight back. I've always gotten full pretty quickly and I've always been thin though I've never been underweight before. Since I was 18 (I'm 26 now) my weight has stayed a pretty steady 122 or so pounds (a fair weight for my 5'6 height and tiny bone frame) and I want to be back at that weight again.

My anxiety lead a decreased appetite and, when I'd be particularly worried or nervous about something, I would get stomach aches and completely lose my appetite. When I realized I was losing weight I knew I needed to talk to my doctor about my anxiety again (she had given me a good list of things to try before resorting to medication and while they helped they just weren't enough).

I've got my appetite back now but I want to be sure i keep on track while getting the most out of what I eat calorie and such wise.

        Thank you though <33
