I live in the Mid-Hudson River Valley (about 90 minutes from Manhattan) with my husband, son and two poodles. I am a freelance photographer, writer and editor.

I have had a longstanding interest in all things Asian and have practiced Buddhism for 16 years. A life-changing experience was my solo trip to Nepal, Tibet and Thailand in 1998 for a little over a month.

Currently, I write reviews of children's books for the Signal Journal out of Kennesaw State University. I am also cataloguing (via photography) the Vanderbilt estate's collection, and this will take some time as there are thousands of objects.

Finally, I am on the board of Citta, an organization that builds schools, women's centers and hospitals in Nepal and India.

One secret that helps me to stay healthy is
I try to only consume foods in their natural unadulterated states and I am a vegetarian. I also try to stay away from sugary foods and empty calories.
