New Hudson, US

I was introduced to yoga about two years ago. It makes my body smile inside and out. I hope to continue practicing and using yoga on a daily basis for the rest of my life.

More About Me

My Occupation is
I just graduated college with a biology degree and was recently accepted into physician assistant school, which i will begin in spring. I am sure to be using this website often during my two years of intense PA school.

My hobbies/interests are
I love being active outside. I just signed up for my first 5K this spring. I'm a huge science nerd and love watching History and NatGeo documentaries. I love reading for pleasure, tho I've haven't really dug into my huge list of books I want to read yet. Hopefully now that its winter I can start crossing off the list.

One secret that helps me to stay healthy is
Its not just one secret I use to stay healthy, that's for sure. Either i'm in my healthy phase, or i'm not. Always during the holidays I slack on the gym time and replace that time with eating delicious foods and visiting with family. January 1st I literally feel like a balloon and initiate my healthy lifestyle again. I don't feel bad about taking a month break. It is exactly what I need to recharge my healthy lifestyle and start the new year out right!

My wellness goals are
To incorporate yoga and meditation into my life daily.

I see myself achieving my wellness goals by
Changing the routine up and taking one step at a time. For example, today I am going to run on the treadmill for hopefully 1.5 mile, then complete a short yoga video to stretch and focus my mind. Tomorrow I plan on watching a full yoga session and let my muscles relax from the gym. The day after its back in the gym, running hopefully 1.75 miles and then watching a different video. Its all about mixing it up. I also want to write down what I do daily so i can see on an overall scale just how active I really am.

My inspirations are
My friend Sara. She is a cross country runner and is the one who introduced me to yoga and running. She told me that if she could do it, I can do. She was right. Thank you Sara!

A little more about me
I am a big fan of fundraisers and volunteering for community activities. If anyone needs any assistance with projects around Michigan, just let me know :)

This is my first post on my wellness diary. I'm very excited to have joined MYO and cannot wait to watch a short video after my run!
