I work in a wonderful community arts centre. I volunteer and love being active in my community.
I enjoy walks with my dog, cooking for my friends and yoga for me time.
I was diagnosed with MS 2 years ago and have recently had a severe relapse, leaving me the inability to walk normally. I am on the mend, but the glimpse into life in a wheel chair, co-dependent on others has been both scary and humbling, and has prompted me to want to be more active in promoting wellness and positive healing for those that are in like situations. I think of myself as an optimist, and try hard to always look to the bright side of life, and have patience with the dark side when it appears.
I recently started with the World Wide Good News. I hope to capture stories of community builders and those that are working to help heal themselves or others that may be living with chronic illness.

One secret that helps me to stay healthy is
Although I am seen to be someone who is strong I have my 'weak' moments and I take them and I enjoy them for what they are, be it in the bath, in bed, on the yoga mat or over a cup of tea with a friend and a good cry.
Point is, it's ok stray from always being 'strong'
My wellness goals are
to keep myself positive and learning how to keep myself healthy and keep my MS at bay the best I can.
to keep my body active at whatever level that may be, in order to keep connected to my body, so that I can sense when something might be going wrong with it.

I am still trying to think about what might be the best way to go about this.

A little more about me
I would love to encourage the yoga community to reach out to those with disabilities and encourage them to do yoga! Maybe be their yoga buddy? I was telling a friend of mine that with all the visitors I keep getting since being out of hospital that we should set up yoga dates! I then thought what a great thing for people that might be stuck at home that might love to try yoga but might be to scared to do it alone. Find a buddy that would love to try yoga, sign them up with MYO and have some fun together!
