More About Me

My Occupation is

One secret that helps me to stay healthy is
I have a standing appointment with a personal trainer twice a week. There are one to two other gals that train with me and because it is already scheduled in to my week it helps me to fulfill the commitment.

My wellness goals are
Just to be healthy and balanced, which is very important at this stage of my life.

I see myself achieving my wellness goals by
Making yoga and meditation practice a constant in my life.

My inspirations are
All who make a commitment to change their lives for the better.

A little more about me
I am a vegetarian, sometimes vegan, sometimes raw... I like to mix it up.

I have been eating raw for about 10 days now and I feel so full of energy... I have also been trying to practice yoga 3 - 4 times a week, meditate for 10 minutes a day and memorize one short poem a week... So far so good. I think I'll work with this for a while

      • Hi Susan, Congrats on your journey and flowing with this commitment. Very wonderful to see you are incorporating the meditation with the rest of your practice. All the best with your nutrition transition (like how that rhymes!) - watch for signs of detoxification on the way (ie fatigue, headaches) and embrace those signs as a positive. In yesterday's entry I described feeling "amazing" after taking my first yoga class in two months. Well today is another story and and I will call it "Oh My Aching Back". Boy did I really over do it and my back is so tight right now that I can't even lie down. Silly me thinking I could work out on Tuesday with my personal trainer Mandy for an hour, go to Killer Carlene's yoga class on Wednesday and then work out with Mandy again on Thursday. I feel as though I have been hit by a mack truck. Just when I was thinking being 50 was not so bad, I suddenly think that my muscles have developed memory loss. Oh well, it will be better by Saturday and I will check out some hot yoga... maybe I'll go to the beginners class and ease myself back in slowly.

In May I went on a yoga retreat to Tuscany. Since then I have really slacked off in my practice. Tonight i went to class with my fav instructor Carlene and it was amazing. I don't know why I stray from the path, but you know it makes going back all the sweeter. Namaste.
