Yoga Pose of the Month: Matysasana (Fish Pose)

Matysasana is a classic yoga pose that traditionally follows Shoulderstand.  It is either a joyful experience or one that feels challenging and awkward.

Benefits of Matsyasana (Fish Pose)
...Opens pectoralis muscles of chest, intercostal muscles between ribs, and upper portion of psoas muscles in hips

...Opens muscles in the abdomen and front of neck

...Strengthens musculature in back and neck
...Traditionally thought to stimulate organs in the abdomen and throat
