Vega Recipe: Pear, Mint and Cucumber Smoothie

A pear, mint and cucumber smoothie is a fantastic way to rebalance the system post yoga class. You’ve just released stress from the body, so continue the pattern with subtle flavors and soothing ingredients. Cucumber helps rehydrate, while pears re-energize. For a fruit, the pear is lower on the glycemic index; it has a steady enough release of energy to replenish the body after a lower impact activity, without giving too much energy all at once.  Pair that with fresh mint (pun intended), and you get a smoothie that is soothing on the digestive system, encouraging a stress-free body.

Pear, Mint & Cucumber Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 pear

1-2 inch cubes of cucumber

3-5 leaves of mint

1 Scoop of Vega Natural Energizing Smoothie

1 Cup of unsweetened almond milk

1/3 cup ice

Directions:

Toss into the blender and blend until smooth, adding more water to achieve your desired consistency. Serve!
