Tuesday Yoga Giveaway: YogaSak
Posted on November 29th, 2011

Question: What extra essentials do you carry in your yoga bag?
Yoga is a do-anywhere, anytime kinda practice. That’s why we at My Yoga Online are big fans of anything that helps us take our practice with us everywhere we go.
Enter the YogaSak —a yoga mat carrier that’s so well thought-out we think they may have consulted Einstein during the design process. It’s back-pack style, so we can strap it on when riding our bike without having to deal with it slipping from side to side. The straps are adjustable, so we can make it fit however we like. And here is perhaps the best part: there are compartments for our water bottle, yoga block, towel, shoes, cell phone, ID, iPod, and even more. Plus it’s made from polyester, so it’s easy to wash, is resilient, light weight and durable.
Win your own YogaSak!
YogaSak is giving one YogaSak to one lucky My Yoga Online member.

I too really like and agree with the sentiments of the posts of shawnalee and suemorris26. I used to be a collector of everything but after a few years living in a small cabin while working on a boat I downsized considerably and I vowed to stop "collecting" stuff from then onwards. I've found I look after my things much better now.
Although the items you see in yoga stores are lovely (and it's fundamentally quite tempting to match things up!), they're realistically nothing but a distraction and it is quite funny that a whole industry has built up to convince us yoga fans to need more things... even when the activity we are dong is all about encouraging us to rely on what's already within us.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this shawnalee and suemorris26. :)
It's a bit off subject but what does everyone else think about the yoga "extras" industry?

Besides the usual necessities mentioned by others, I generally like to carry with me little items that I can share with, or lend to, others such as tissue, an extra towel, Yoga Journal magazine, and extra change.

For hot yoga, you only make the mistake of forgetting a clean pair of undies once!
