My Yoga Online Team Member Rides for Cancer

My Yoga Online team member Tim Steeves--the brains behind our web, mobile, and TV technology--has experienced the effects of cancer first hand. Tim explains “The loss of a family member is never easy. The closest to me was my wife's mother, Betty Black, who died of a brain tumor at the age of 54 in 2001; my uncle, Toby Steeves, who died of lung cancer at the age of 68 in 2010 (he didn't even smoke); and my aunt, Nancy Steeves, 55 who also died of cancer in 2010." So when Tim heard about the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer Benefiting BC Cancer Foundation, he signed up. Even though it’s a two-day ride. Even though it’s about 250 kms, 150 miles.

When we asked him what motivates him, he stated, "It's just such a prevalent disease. Almost everyone I've talked to since committing to the ride knows someone personally that has died of cancer. I am riding in memory of those who've passed, but am driven by the fact that I can help those who are about to be diagnosed and those who are loosing family members right now, today.”

He inspired us. So My Yoga Online as a company is going to match up to $1000 towards your donations to his cause. We’re inviting you to support him! It doesn’t have to be hundreds. Every little bit counts. Tim rides through the scenic Pacific Northwest on June 16 and 17, 2012.

Need to know more? Right now, 2 in 5 people will hear the words: “You have cancer” in their lifetime. Last year, The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer raised over $11.1 million!

The money raised for The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer will benefit BC Cancer Foundation and support leading clinicians, scientists, and researchers. Their search for new discoveries and improved patient outcomes will have a real impact in our communities throughout the province, across Canada, and around the world.
