My Yoga Online Supports Kiva.org

One of the best benefits of our yoga practice is that it helps us not just become more dedicated to our own self-care, but the care of the world around us. Ahimsa is a yama—or recommended tip for bringing yoga into our daily life off the mat—that translates to compassion. We practice it for ourselves by treating ourselves with compassion and accepting where we’re at in our yoga practice and life off the mat. Many yogis also practice this for the world through personal choices such as ethical eating, buying and giving.

About Kiva
Kiva’s mission is to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world.

Since Kiva was founded in 2005 there have been 586,053 Kiva lenders, $216 million in loan and a 98.75% repayment rate. Kiva works with 133 field partners, 450 volunteers around the world, and 60 different countries. Like Kiva, My Yoga Online envisions a world “where all people—even in the most remote areas of the globe—hold the power to create opportunity for themselves and others.”
