Yoga Pose of the Month: Triangle Pose
June 10th, 2009
Enjoy our latest post by Dr. Robin Armstrong reviewing the applications, techniques, and cautions when doing Utthita Trikonasana (Triangle Pose). This classical Hatha Yoga posture offers many benefits:
* Expands chest and shoulders
* Increases mobility of hip joints
* Increases neck mobility
* Stretches spinal muscles
* Strengthens and tones muscles of the thighs
* Stretches calf muscles, hamstrings, hip musculature
* Increases proprioception (sense of position in space) of feet and ankles

is a very good pose yoga at home
this exercise is even beneficial in weight reduction as it is a kind of stretching exercise which is followed in the initial learning stage of yoga.
In reading your June 10th blog post, I read the benefits of a well executed Utthita Trikonasana (Triangle Pose). and i think to myself, “well, yeah, if it is done properly.” Then i see the link to “correctly performing” the said pose. I would think that THAT should be the more important information, as i have seen hundreds of practitioners butcher the posture to the point of bodily harm. Just a thought.
P.S. I can’t figure out what the comment #1 has to do with your blog post, but whatever.
