Green Garment Care
• Beware of Dry Cleaning. Though the industry is much-improved since 1992, there is still a high likelihood that your trusty corner cleaner uses tetrachloroethylene, a known carcinogen. See if there is a local green cleaner employing “wet cleaning†or liquid CO2 techniques. Many articles whose tags ask for the dry clean treatment can actually be hand washed, especially silk, wool and linen.
• Approach new fabrics with skeptical enthusiasm. Bamboo, for instance, sounds great: It’s a fast-growing plant, not reliant on chemicals, and beautifully drapes the human form. The trouble is, bamboo plantations can displace native forests, and harvesting and fiber processing are often polluting and unregulated.
• Wash with care. Wait until you have a full load, turn the clothes inside out and use the lowest water temperature possible. Choose phosphate-free and biodegradable detergents READ MORE….

Hello, I was looking for information on bunk beds, and find your post, this very interesting and I hope to provide more information on the subject
Hi , thanks for useful information sharing
The industry has worked hard to clean up its act, but the fact remains that 85% of dry cleaners still use perc. CO2 and wet cleaning are good eco-friendly alternatives, but less than 1/3 of 1% of dry cleaners use either method exclusively (machine and labor costs make them very expesnive to operate with). ANother option is to look for a cleaner that uses GreenEarth, a liquid silicone solution that is not only good for the planet, but excellent for clothes. Silicone is essentially liquid sand, and the same base ingrediant for many shampoos and conditioners. When released to the environment, it degrades back to its three natural elements: sand and trace abmoutns of water and CO2. Because it is chemically inert, it does not interact with textiles or dyes, so colors stay bright, fabrics keep a soft hand and last longer. Best of all, no smell!
