Hi David. Thanks for advices. I like the nuance you made i.e. ''is not the pain as much as if your body and the muscle your on in particular is tightening while you're trying to get into it. You would want the muscle you're working on to be as relaxed as possible when you're treating it with a ball ''.

@maubin I appreciate your questions. Regarding a ball, I use it regularly myself if something is going on. Personally I recommend the Yamuna Body Rolling balls but a tennis ball can be quite effective as well. It is sometimes too hard though and the pain can be too much. My personal measure is not the pain as much as if your body and the muscle your on in particular is tightening while you're trying to get into it. You would want the muscle you're working on to be as relaxed as possible when you're treating it with a ball.
Regarding this pain being good... it's neither good or bad, it is just telling you that there is something at that place that is unhappy. It's bringing your awareness there. Certainly you are familiar with pain that feels right. The part that is good for the muscle is not the pain, its the pressure from the ball that is hopefully pushing fluid out of the area and potentially changing the neuromuscular relationship that is causing dysfunction.
There are a number of ways to get rid of trigger points. A ball is one of them. To be sure that you actually have a trigger point you should see a professional physiotherapist or massage therapist who specializes in assessing and treating these.
I hope this helps,
David

Hola David. Thanks to share with us your understanding of the complex & fascinating human body.
First question: Regarding muscle trigger points or muscle knots what is opinion on using a ball (hard or soft) to eliminate those points on the muscles of the thigh and leg ?
Listening to some peoples, when we find a point, we stay on, breath in, endure the pain until the pain disappears. It could go as long as 5 minutes. As know the pain could be painful. Second question: If this is painful, how can it be good for the muscle?
Last question, what is the best way to eliminate those triggers points?
Thanks for advice, Regards Michel
