FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

My Yoga Online Supports Kiva.org

June 9, 2011 Vancouver My Yoga Online is proud to be supporting global micro-loan organization Kiva.org. Supporting this non-profit is in line with My Yoga Online’s commitment to bringing the yogic concept of ‘ahimsa’ and compassion for all to the world.

Kiva’smission is to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world.

From June 21-28, My Yoga Online is donating $1 to Kiva for every new Facebook Fan on the company Facebook page—up to $5,000.

Kreg Weiss, My Yoga Online co-founder and yoga teacher, says “We fully support and believe in taking yoga off the mat. The yogic concept of ahimsa, or compassion, is something we like to practice as a company and individuals. Supporting outstanding organizations like Kiva is something we’re thrilled to do.”

Since Kiva was founded in 2005 there have been 586,053 Kiva lenders, $216 million in loan and a 98.75% repayment rate. Kiva works with 133 field partners, 450 volunteers around the world, and 60 different countries.

Like Kiva, My Yoga Online envisions a world “where all people—even in the most remote areas of the globe—hold the power to create opportunity for themselves and others.”
