0 Rate Comment DownRate Comment Up aletheia 2009-10-24 05:17:03 This is not level 2 practice, more like 3-4. Pretty to watch as she is getting the deepest out of every pose and she is beautiful. But hard to practice as she doesn't give beginers version of each pose and there is a lot of vinyasas and she doesn't get into much depth about the subtle sensations of muscles and movements. To much ego here which detracts from the true practice in yoga and from the general line of myyogaonline. I preffer your studio videos much more with your our instructors which are the very best :-)

I agree that the Ujaï intruction is very 'basic' and not correct. Instructions as 'bring your nose to your legs' without any advice about lower back safety also troubles me. I'm a bit dissapointed with the latest videos on myyogaonline where yoga is more presented as 'fitness' and introducing 'celebrety's'. But anyone who enjoys these practices , please do, Namaste
0 Rate Comment DownRate Comment Up conkerwoman 2009-10-22 04:53:56 This DVD should be called 'Yoga for Beginners who are Actually Quite Strong and Flexible, Who Somehow Know Quite A Lot About Yoga Already'. Desi gives very little advice on how to safely set up the poses, and her description of Ujayi breath is, in my experience, just plain wrong. Yoga doesn't have to be difficult to be effective? Well, if you are, as I am, over 40, over weight and not in your peak of fitness, you could find this practice very effective indeed in giving you a pulled muscle or two. I would recommend anyone who has not done 'Power Yoga' before, which this is based on, to view Jesse Enright's videos on this site first before attempting this.
